Amazon Distribution Centre Amiens, France 2017
The Boves warehouse is Amazon’s fifth distribution centre in France. With 77 loading bays and a surface area of over 100,000 square metres, it is dedicated to handling large parcels, i.e. those larger than the standard dimensions (60 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm). According to Amazon, the opening of the site will lead to the creation of 500 direct jobs over the next three years, including operating, technical and maintenance staff. Entrusted to Goodman, the warehouse will include around ten storage cells and nearly 70 loading bays. ‘Amiens will become Amazon’s largest logistics hub in France. This project is in line with Amazon’s development in France, which is growing by 30% a year. It will also enable us to support independent sellers,’ explains Ronan Bolé, Amazon’s Director of Operations for France. Our products have equipped all the washrooms – over 100 workstations – and particular attention has been paid to hygiene and reducing cross-contamination.
